Palm Desert

At the end of this past summer, a bunch of us went to Palm Desert for a short little vacation. Kelly's friend has a time share there, but she couldn't use all the days, so she offered the extras to Kelly and we all went. The kids loved it! I just wanted to share a couple experiences from that weekend.

Daniel: what's under the ground?
Me: dirt
Daniel: what's uuunder the dirt?
Me: well if you go all the way to the bottom it's lava
Daniel: and under the lava is Chineese?
Me: ummmmmm, kinda...?

So heidi put Sam's clothes on one morning and 10 minutes later he was naked. We
couldn't find his clothes anywhere. So we just gave up and put different clothes on him. Then Heidi was hanging out on the balcony and saw Sam's shirt hanging from the tree outside our room. That little booger threw his clothes off the balcony! We couldn't reach it so I got an orange and threw it to try and knock it out of the tree to the ground. The people in the balcony next to us came out to try and help too, but there was nothing they could do. The orange didn't work. So Heidi got the broom but it wasn't long enough. Then we saw an arm reaching out from the balcony below us to grab the broom. Daniel took the broom and passed it to the arm below and he (or she?) was able to reach the shirt since he was closer. He
saved the day and passed the broom back up. Good team effort, huh?

Later that day, as we were walking to the pool, Daniel said, "Aww a killing cactus." (He meant a dying cactus)

Then, as we were at the pool swimming, Daniel was super hot. Not a surprise since it is the desert and it was like 115 degrees. But anyway, Daniel said, "I want to be cold." It was so sweet and sincere. Poor kid.

Daniel later said, "I wish that water slide was 26,000 cool and 2 years to get to the bottom."

In Memory of Aurora Black

She passed away today. I'm so glad I was able to be at the hospital all day yesterday with her. I'm not sure if she even knew I was there, but I think she could hear us a little. I'm so glad that she can finally be with Vicki and Windsor and her mom. She has always been unafraid to die, knowing that she would be with her loved ones after death. I'm so glad she's not suffering anymore. I love Aunt Aurora so much and I know this is not the end of our relationship, for I will be able to be with her again some day too.

Christopher's Mission Call

He's going to the Washington Kennewick mission. He's leaving January 19th, a month before me!

He's super excited... and this happened like a week ago I think, I just haven't written in a while.
